UCN Week in Review – Canelo’s Body Shots
The week started at The Forum in Inglewood, CA, home of 1980s Showtime Lakers, with a great brawl, memorialized by the Undisputed Champion Network (thank you HBO Sports), between Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez and Carlos Cuadras, as Chocolatito won a title in his 4th division.

The week concluded at the home of the 2010s Showtime Owner and home of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry’s World, where Canelo Alvarez dismantled Liam Smith in front of 51,240 and took Smith’s WBO junior middleweight belt back to Mexico. Canelo’s body shots wrecked Smith from the opening bell and opened up a steady stream of uppercuts until a stunning left hook to the body put the game Brit down for good in the 9th round.

Although the undercard impressed no one, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin’s promotor Tom Loeffler gave Canelo a thumbs up for saving the night…
Nice KO, Canelo looked GGGreat tonight! #CaneloSmith

That, however, was before Canelo claimed #TeamGGG is ducking him.
