Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center hosted a “Fight of the Year” candidate that lived up to everything fans expected from a warrior like Gabriel Rosado and a puncher like David Lemieux. Describing Lemieux, 33-2 (31), as a hard puncher and describing Rosado, 21-9 (13), as tough are understatements of epic proportions. Although Rosado did have moments of success, he took hellacious punishment. With both eyes badly damaged and after taking huge head and body shots, referee Steve Willis finally stopped the bout on the advice of the ringside doctor in round 10. The networks will be clamoring to get Canadian Lemieux back in the New Year.

Hugo Centeno Jr., 22-0 (12), scored an exciting, highlight reel knockout over James De La Rosa, 23-3 (13), in round five. Centeno Jr. knocked De La Rosa down in round one with a jab but afterward, the action slowed down until Centeno landed the heater that dropped De La Rosa face-first and ended the bout.

Thomas Dulorme, 22-1 (14), and Hank Lundy, 25-4-1 (12), threw down for 10 exciting rounds for the vacant NABO and NABF junior welterweight titles. Both fighters had their moments in the bout but in the end, Dulorme pulled off the split decision. The judges scored the bout 96-93 Lundy and 96-93 and 97-92 to Dulorme.
